Day 1: Welcome to Calabria

Arrival at Lamezia Airport. From the minute that you start landing, the meditteranean essence that surrounds you will welcome you to a very humble, simple, special and beautiful land that still carries with it True Blue Italian traditions. Calabria welcomes you with open arms. Your dream escape has just begun. Your personal driver will be waiting for you to take you to Capo Vaticano where waiting for Maria, our True Blue Italy representative and your local guide, will be waiting for. As your journey begins from Pizzo you now enter what the Gods define as their Coast. You will soon understand what that means because what your eyes will be looking at is unbelievably beautiful. La Costa Degli Dei. Once you arrive at Capo Vaticano look out point, what appears in front of you will leave you speechless, your eyes will see the incredible turquoise colour of the water that this coast is famous for and the beaches below. At this point you are totally relaxed and enjoying yourself as the essence of the land has captured your hearts and soul. We will accompany you to the hotel chosen for you. You will be free to totally relax in the comfort of your rooms and enjoy the rest of the day by the pool, we will be having dinner at the hotel restaurant together with your local tour guide Maria.

Day 2: Coast of Gods

We will start our morning with a rich breakfast. At 9 am, our driver will pick us up and bring us to our surprise location where we will be sailing off on our coast to coast morning. Off we go to sail along the Coast of the Gods… what you will experience, listen to the legends of the Gods and see with your eyes will be an unforgettable journey, from Tropea to Capo Vaticano. We will approach several shores to admire natural grottos and according with the season, weather, and water condition, we will do several stops and for those who would like, you will be given the possibility and the equipment to swim in the caves and enjoy snorkeling. In the meanwhile you will be tasting the sea urchin (ricci di mare) that our captain swims out to catch along the coral reef. Upon arrival to Capo Vaticano the legend of this area will be told, and learn the origin of the name Capo Vaticano. We will end our adventure by having lunch at Tono Beach, where the restaurants charm, and genuine Calabrese bio food will be enhanced by the turquoise ocean view. After lunch you can enjoy the rest of the afternoon relaxing at the Tono beach. At approximately 6.30pm our driver will pick us up and will take us to enjoy a special evening, Calabrese night. Music will fill the air and a very rich buffet of Calabrese genuine food and good local wine will accompany you throughout the evening.

Day 3: Reggio Calabria and enchanting Scilla

Breakfast at the hotel. At 9.00 am our driver will be taking us off to our new adventure. It will take us approximetely one and a half an hour to arrive. The ride down will be pleasent as you can admire the beauty of Calabrias landscape . The city of Reggio Calabria is where we will be enjoying the day shopping along the famous Corso Garibaldi A visit to the national museum of Magna Grecia , home to the famous Bronzi di Riace and a walk along Italys most beautiful boardwalk, are truly recommended.The walkway sits along the straight of Messina facing Sicily.

The day is at your leisure to do with as you choose and therefore so is lunch. We will be meeting at approximetely 3.30 pm where we will enjoy a Gelato together before we head off to explore our next destination, the Violet Coast La Costa Viola. The enchanting seaside town of Scilla, for its warm violet waters hence the name, is overlooked by the 11th century Ruffo Castle.The view from the Castle which sits on a cliffside is breathtaking. As we enter Scilla from its famous promontory the legend of Scilla and Cariddi will be narrated ,stories of love potions and sea monsters will enhance the view. From Piazza San Rocco our journey into the fascinating little picturesque streets of Scilla begins. We will be stopping along the way at the villages most magical postcard perfect picture spots. Our tour will end in Chianalea a seaside true gem which is referred to as southern Italys Venice, where we will be enjoying dinner as the sun sets along the horizon. We estimate that we will be returning to the hotel at around midnight.

Day 4: Magic Tropea

Breakfast at the hotel. Today is your relaxing day. You may choose to stay by the pool or set off to the beach. We will meet at the hotel at approximately 12.45 p.m. and will be leaving with our driver to have lunch in a very typical calabrese setting. Genuine family produced food, local wine, all accompanied by good music, after lunch we head back to the hotel. At 5.30pm our private driver will accompany us to Tropea, our Mediterranean pearl, which is situated on a terrace at 70 meters above sea level. Perfectly situated between the Gioia Tauro and Sant'Eufemia Gulf, Tropea is caressed by a Mediterranean breeze on a 40 kilometer coastline that the ancient Greeks named "Coast of the Gods". You can stroll through the town's picturesque streets and enjoy all the magic that this town has. A very special and unforgettable dinner will take place overlooking Santa Maria Dell'isola's church, just like in a fairytale, the medieval church sits atop a rocky cliff with the beautiful waters down below, its illuminated in the evening making its mystery even more incredible. After dinner you are free to continue your visit and explore Tropea, at night she becomes legend.

Day 5: Zungri, Pizzo and Piedigrotta

Breakfast in the hotel. At 9 a.m. we will be leaving to visit the “Rocky Settelment of Zungri” and its museum which is referred to as the "little Matera" of Calabria. The site dates back to the medieval age, VIII/XIII century, it dominates the promontory of Tropea between 500-700 meters above sea level. The rock area is distributed in different rock units on 3000 sqm. Today lunch will take place on the settlement in their restaurant which has a breathtaking view, that will make lunch a very enjoyable, unforgettable moment. In the afternoon we will visit the little church of Piedigrotta entirerly sculpted in a rock and faces the sea. It is one of the top most visited sites in Calabria. The little church has a fascinating story behind it. As we proceed with our very relaxing afternoon, a Tartufo gelati in Pizzo’s main square is a must, highly recommended, many flavors to choose from. Dinner will be served at the hotel restaurant.

Day 6: Winetasting and cooking

Breakfast at the Hotel. Enjoy your day by the hotel pool or at the beach, you are free to decide how you would like to spend the morning. Our diver will be picking us up at 4.30pm we will be spending the afternoon and evening in an organic farm and winery. Winetasting will be accompanied by a cooking class where the most famous calabrese dishes will be illustrated and where you will actually get a chance to make your own pasta, we assure you that it will be so much fun. For Dinner we will then be enjoying genuine Calabrese food by the biofarm owners. Never has a glass of wine tasted so good as you are overlooking a picturesque setting, saying cheers to the volcanic island of Stromboli.

Day 7: Violet Coast

Breakfast at hotel. Departure will be at 9 a.m. What your journey today will take you to experience is unique, as we head off once more to the Violet Coast to visit Monte Sant’Elia. We will visit S. Elia’s cave, the monastery dates back to the X century where the Saint lived and is burried. Here you will also learn of a fascinating story. We will then take a walk to Monte Sant’Elia which is situated on a cliff, its view is truly amazing, from the famous three crosses what appears in front of you is incredible, Calabria’s coast line, the Aeolian islands and Sicily. All this will be accompanied by tasting the finest local wine that the Violet Coast is famous for. Wine has never tasted so good with such a view, cheers.... Our driver will then take us to our lunch area at Palmi, where there will be a very rich buffet of all good Calabrese food. The “Parco Presenze” is a true area of total relax with incredible views. Sicily and the Islands will keep you company. We will return to the hotel in the afternoon and you will be free to relax in the comfort of your rooms or do as you wish. In the evening we will be enjoying our wood oven pizza night, in a good Calabrese pizzeria at Capo Vaticano.

Day 8: Ciao Calabria!

Today is your finally day in paradise and yours to enjoy as you wish. We suggest a visit to the Grotticelle Beach, voted Calabria’s n# 1 beach. At this point Calabria will become your land, and your journey will be unforgettable.

Time to say Arrivederci to Maria and Ciao Ciao to Calabria.
