From Arles, to Nimes, from Orange, to Cinque Terre, Carrara, Siena, Rome... Ready for a 9 days school trip out of the ordinary. Explore the most beautiful, rich in history, and colorful destinations all combined in one journey. This trip is carefully designed as an educational, cultural, artistic, and hands-on experience, for students to spark their curiosity and discover the real authenticity of different cultures.
The experience starts with a flight from the U.S. to Marseille, where the students indulge in the French province. A transfer to Arles follows, a city in the south of France, claimed to have inspired the famous Painter Van Gogh, as such one can already imagine its historical beauty. With some guided tours, and museum visits the students fully experience the city, which once used to be the provincial capital of ancient Rome.
The journey follows with a trip to Nimes, which also used to be an important spot for the Roman Empire, where students will encounter and discover similar monuments, such as Maison Carrée and Pont du Gard. The slow introduction to Roman culture and history will prepare the students for the Italian and Roman experience that will follow up.
Next follows a visit to Orange, where students will experience the Roman theatre of Orange, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This hasf day trip will end up in La Spezia where a welcoming dinner will be made ready for the students, in order to connect and reflect on the previous days in the French Province. In La Spezia, one of the most beautiful, colorful places of Italy, Cinque Terre will be discovered with a guided tour. The experience is elevated through an amazing jeep experience in Carrara Marble Quarries, where Michelangelo took his marble from for his amazing pieces of art.
Then the journey continues with Siena, where students will explore the majestic Siena Cathedral, the most beautiful Gothic cathedrals in Italy. A great introduction to frescoes, mosaics, sculptures, and architectural pieces follows the journey. Then comes the exploration of the majestic city of Rome.
The journey ends up in Rome, the cultural peak, the cherry on top lets say! 3 full days in the timeless capital of Italy. From the Colosseum to the Roman Forum, from the Vatican to the Sistine Chapel, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Piazzas, Spanish Steps, endless Fountains, etc. all will be discovered and engraved with its magical history into the mind of the students, creating this memorable experience.
Not only historical places are visited, but also other experiences such as a bike tour on the most ancient roman way, the Appian Way. Meeting the outskirts of Rome, a countryside exploration... Moreover, other workshops such as a mosaic workshop, introducing students to artistic craftsmanship, follows. Here students will create their own personal masterpieces, bringing an unforgettable souvenir with them back home.
As the experience slowly comes to the last day, fully packed with history, memories, culture, art, smiles and laughter, the last evening will be followed by a Pizza making farewell dinner. Here students will talk about their experiences, what they felt during this journey, and opening up for self-reflection. The next morning will be the departure day, where students will leave Rome and fly back to the U.S. with all their memorable experiences, ready to be shared and retold.
