      1. 24/7 Emergency support: Your Rome + Puglia coordinators will be your primary contacts and will be able to handle most if not all issues that arise. You will have additional emergency contact numbers in case of any logistical issues that are not resolvable by your coordinator, and for non-medical emergencies.

DAY 1:

  • Take a flight from your airport in the USA to Rome.

  • Arrival in Rome, walking tour and orientation around the hotel area, welcome dinner
  • MORNING: Arrival at Rome Airport and meeting with your Rome program coordinator, who will remain with your group until the end of the trip.
  • Private transfer to your accommodation.
  • Breakfast on your own expense with your coordinator
  • AFTERNOON: relaxed afternoon walking tour and orientation of the area (learn where to find your local convenience stores, ATM/Banks, pharmacy, etc).
  • Light lunch at local market (meal and soft drink included).

  • Free time to rest and refresh before dinner.

  • AFTERNOON: Relaxed => 25 minute walk with your coordinator as guide to Piazza del Popolo, Via del Babuino, Column of the Immaculate Conception, Spanish Steps including Egyptian Obelisk at the top end in Fontana di Trevi.

    4. Arrive at Bari train station in the AFTERNOON.
    5. Meet your Puglia program licensed guide/coordinator, Check into your accommodation.
    6. Rest and refresh.
    7. Orientation: Puglia guide/coordinator will point out key locations for general familiarizing and orienting (convenience stores, ATM/Bank, pharmacy, etc.).
    8. Group dinner at a local restaurant (2-course meal and soft drink included).
    9. Overnight in Bari.

  • Stroll around Polignano a Mare. Private street food tour of Bari.
  • MORNING :
    1. Meet Puglia guide/coordinator and walk to train station.
    2. Train to Polignano.
    3. Puglia guide/coordinator will show you around the town, followed by free time to enjoy swimming at Lama Monachile beach (additional activities on own arrangement).
    4. Walk back to Polignano train station.
    5. Train back to Bari.
    6. Lunch on your own (guide/ coordinator to offer suggestions of where to buy handmade pasta and trallini).
  • AFTERNOON: Free time to rest.
  • LATE AFTERNOON: meet local guide, Georgio, for walking and street food tour of Bari Old Town to learn about its history, culture and community see the squares lit up at night.

  • Discover Itria Valley, Alberobello, Grottaglie.
  • MORNING :
  • Private guided tour of Itria Valley.
  • Trulli (dry-stone conical roof houses) in the Itria Valley area: learn about the origin and history of the buildings..
  • Alberobello: The Trulli town is where people live and have businesses in the Trulli within a town.
  • Itria Valley: learn about the olive trees, history and tradition of making olive oil, cuisine, economy).
  • Light lunch at the olive oil mill/producer, including olive oil tasting.
  • AFTERNOON: Grottaglie to visit Casa Vestita, a ceramics artisan laboratory and private residence with a Byzantine church in the underground of the residence, where you will learn how to make ceramic pots and hear about local tradition related to pottery (entrance included).
