The most famous site of the city, and perhaps of Italy, the Colosseum is one of the must see attractions on any trip to Rome. And now it’s even more exciting with access to areas once off limits to visitors.
Rome's Colosseum
After being granted entry by the gatekeeper, you climb upwards into the Colosseum’s Belvedere, the upper layers. The 3rd, 4th and 5th floors were reserved for the poor and women, and just like theatres today, these were the cheap seats. Those who sat here felt detached from the action in the arena, it was a long way away, but today it’s a different story as there are many visitors who want to visit this restricted area to see the views!
This tour is a guided tour of the restricted upper Belvedere area of the site, but your ticket also includes entry to the Colosseum itself where you can visit the main areas unguided.
For groups of up to 25 people.
Want to visit both the Sotteranei and the Belvedere? – Why not purchase our combined ticket with a guided tour of both restricted areas. This also includes unguided entry to the main arena as well.
